Truth in Testimony Reform Resolution

CIP in the News

The Republican Study Committee (RSC) has taken the leading role in Congress at stopping malign foreign influence through introducing multiple pieces of legislation. Rep. Lance Gooden has introduced the Think Tank and Nonprofit Foreign Influence Disclosure Act of 2021 requiring think tanks to disclose foreign government and foreign political party money received; Rep. Mike Johnson has introduced the No Communist Countries Participating in Lobbying Act prohibiting former members of Congress from lobbying for Communist regimes. The RSC has also recommended a
number of improvements to the Foreign Agent Registration Act (FARA) in the RSC National Security Strategy report. RSC Chairman Jim Banks’ Truth in Testimony reform resolution would build on these proposals by requiring maximum transparency so Congress and the American public understand
exactly how foreign agendas may be influencing the public policy discussion that takes place before House committees.
